Perfume.Gio: 10 tips on how to apply perfume correctly
We are pleased to present you our best tips on how to apply your perfume correctly to enjoy the scent to the fullest and achieve long-lasting results. Follow our 10 detailed steps and let your favorite fragrance shine all day long. I am Perfume.gio: Let's GO!
1. Preparing the skin Showering or bathing: Apply perfume to clean skin. After showering or bathing, your pores are open, which allows the fragrance to be better absorbed and last longer. Moisturizing: Use an unscented lotion or body oil to moisturize your skin. Moist skin holds onto the fragrance longer than dry skin.
2. Choose the right spots Pulse points: Apply perfume to warm spots on the body where blood vessels run close to the surface of the skin. These pulse points include the wrists, behind the ears, the neck, the insides of the elbows and the backs of the knees. Hair: A light spray in the hair can make the scent last longer, but beware that perfumes with high alcohol content can dry out the hair. Avoid spraying perfume directly into the hair in strong sunlight. If you have long hair, spray it on the back of the neck and, if you have a beard, under the beard on the chin - this will definitely make the scent last longer.
3. Distance when applying Spraying from a distance: Hold the perfume bottle about 15-20 cm away from the skin. This ensures an even distribution of the fragrance.
4. Correct application Spray instead of rubbing: Spray the perfume on the pulse points and avoid rubbing your wrists together. Rubbing destroys the fragrance molecules and changes the scent.
5. Moderation Dosage: Less is more. 4-6 sprays are usually enough. Too much perfume can be overpowering and mask the actual scent. Change perfumes every now and then to avoid olfactory blindness and prevent overdose.
6. Layering fragrances Fragrance layering: Use a fragrance-free moisturizer or a scented shower gel from the same fragrance line as your perfume. This intensifies the fragrance and ensures it lasts longer. We will write a separate blog post about layering different fragrances.
7. Avoid heat and light Storage: Store perfume bottles in a cool, dark place. Heat, light and humidity can break down the fragrance molecules and affect the shelf life of the perfume. Do not store perfume in the bathroom and never spray it where sunlight can reach, otherwise the fragrance will quickly evaporate or change.
8. Clothes and accessories Clothing spray: Spray a light touch of perfume on your clothes and accessories, such as scarves or hats. Be sure to do this from a distance to avoid staining and not letting the scent become too intense. Only use fragrances that are your favorite scents, as they are difficult to remove from clothes. It is best to spray perfume on the inside of t-shirts or underwear, as these can always be cleaned and are in direct contact with the body.
9. Touch-Ups Refresh: Reapply the fragrance throughout the day as needed. Small perfume bottles or samples are good for taking with you and refreshing on the go. Especially with weaker perfumes such as eau de toilette, you often have to re-spray after 2-4 hours.
10. Individual Application Experiment: Everyone reacts to scents differently. Try different methods and locations to find out what works best for you and how to best showcase your scent.
With these tips, you can ensure that your perfume stays fresh and pleasant all day long. Have fun trying and enjoying your favorite scent!
